Weird Dog

I have 2 dogs. One is a beagle. I actually have to order the beagle to stop drinking. She has this weird habit where she sculls the water. And then throws up. No idea why. She has access to the water 24/7.

When the beagle isn’t drinking stupidly, she’s licking. Doesn’t matter what I’m doing, she’ll just randomly come up and lick me. If I try to move my hand away, she will grab it with her paws and pull me back in.

Then there’s my american staffy. When he drinks. The whole head goes in the bowl. And I swear the majority goes over the floor and not in his mouth.

AAAND he thinks he’s a lap dog. Imagine 40kg puppy. 55kg woman. Puppy likes to sleep on woman’s lap. Currently on said lap now. Though we’re starting to get winter weather, so ultimately I’m not complaining…

What weird things do your pets do?

A New Beginning

ByeByeThis week was Tyson’s first stint away. It was only four days, instead of the usual week, but it’s still been weird. For a couple that has spent almost every two days together since they met, it’s a weird feeling. We’ve been living together for over four years, and not having him around has just been… odd.

It’s also interesting how our dogs have responded. I completely expected his dog (the beagle) to pine for him and try to hunt him out. And I didn’t think that mine (an American Staffy) would not really care at all… he’s a bit of a sloth-dog. But, on the first night it was MY dog that struggled to settle down. He would normally come to bed, fall asleep and then be impossible to move. Every single time I shifted, almost breathed, he would get up and re-situate himself. Yet, after that night, he settled and the Beagle started hunting for her father. Not during the day, but at night, she’s been sitting in the window crying. It’s certainly been an interesting experiment to see how our dogs react without us around.

Now to see how we go for the next few years of our lives…

Nope, Nope, Nope

So, this week’s been real fun… I’ve been sick. For the whole week. But not the so-sick-you-just-sleep sick. Or the can-soldier-on sick. No, it was the I-feel-fine-oh-no-I-don’t sick. And the nausea. The nausea has been super fun.

Although, on a positive note.. I have managed to finish off a few books that have been on my TBR list for a while. And I got to get some great puppy cuddles throughout the week as well. Nothing better than curling up with my fur babies to make me feel better when I just want to go cuddle the porcelain.

I’ve also been able to do a little editing on Aishe’s Arrival, which is something that I really need to develop some discipline with. After all, if I want to be a writer, I actually need to get my work up to a standard that I’m ready to share…

But mostly, this week has been sick, sick, sick. Which has been accompanied by Sex and the City (cliche much?) and a restless revolving through of numerous books. I’ve actually reduced it down to only reading three at this very moment! I’m sure that that will change in the next hour though…

The only other thing of note is that I have started playing around a little with the format of my website. Because, well, why not?
