I started my PhD this month. It’s been a pretty intense and overwhelming period. But, also one of the most exciting and surreal experiences that I’ve looked forward to for a long time!

Hi Skye,
My name is Ian Boyd. I am an Australian author and have recently released my debut novel, Madilla.
Madilla is a Y/A contemporary Fantasy about a young girl from a small Himalayan village who teaches herself to improvise on a worn out, old piano. The village has been under military occupation for hundreds of years, and Madilla’s piano becomes her only escape from a myriad of troubles by revealing a spiritual connection between herself and a wild mountain sparrow named Pan. While Madilla is learning the truth of her family’s faith and the historic relevance of their village, her drunken and abusive uncle is losing himself to the evils of the soldiers. Madilla’s story is one of spiritual and musical discovery against a tide of contrasting beliefs. What she learns is that the magic she feels through playing her piano is only the beginning, and if she is to learn the truth, she must find it alone.
I appreciate you taking the time to have a read through the summary. Please let me know if you would like to read the novel and I will get you a copy in whichever form you prefer.
Thank you
Ian B Boyd

Hi Ian,
That sounds like something I would very much be interested in! I would love to give it a read and review it. Generally, when I review something I also put my review on Goodreads, and (if I remember, or if you remind me), I also try to put it on Amazon.
I do prefer reading books in their physical version. But as I’m based in Australia, I know that this might cost a little to post, so happy for you to send me an ebook if that’s easier. My email address is: skye.b.jenner@gmail.com if you want to send through more information / email anything through.
Looking forward to it!
Skye
