I have a lot of very random hobbies. One of which is writing, and lucky for me, I can combine my love of science, reading and writing on this website. This site is a collection of anything and everything that I decide to write about. Whether it’s for myself or as a volunteer thing for a group.
In 2014 I finished my double degree in Science (Botany, Ecology and Wildlife) and Arts (Anthropology). I loved being able to combine the two very different (but kind of similar fields).
Following this, I decided to do an Honours year in my Arts degree. My thesis focused on Indigenous Australians near Uluru – Kata Tjuta National Park and their involvement in conservation practices. Writing Conserving Country, Conserving Culture was a surreal experience in combining an understanding of culture with conservation practices.
In 2016 I decided to pursue Honours in Science. My thesis is focusing on the overgrazing of Kangaroos on the undergrowth in South Australia. As if that isn’t enough, I have also started my Masters of Arts (Writing). I’m hoping to expand on the creative writing component of this website in the coming year.
In the little free time that I have, I mostly play with my two fur babies. A cheeky beagle named Lexi and a hand-reared Ringtail Possum named Thor.
